Set on the pine-covered hillside above Ibiza Town, Can Talaia looks straight across the bay to the old walls of Dalt Vila. It is a house built for long evenings: the terrace catches the last of the sun, and the lights of the harbour come up just as dinner is served.
Five bedroom suites open onto gardens of palm and olive, arranged around a pool, a separate jacuzzi and shaded daybeds. Inside, limestone floors, whitewashed walls and deep sofas keep the house cool through August, and the kitchen is set up for a private chef as easily as for a quiet breakfast.
